We’re Back in Seattle! OK we’ve been back for about a month now, but transitioning back into the USA where beers are no longer $2 and the traffic in Queen Anne is impossible (everything is a two-way now, what happened!), has taken us some time to adjust after being abroad for nearly half the year.
To answer the top 5 questions we’ve received since returning home:
Q1. What was your favorite wedding?
Bali! Indonesia is probably our favorite country we’ve traveled to as a couple so far, and having 10 of our closest friends with us to share in this amazing adventure was priceless. Genuinely nice people, a fascinating culture, a breathtaking landscape, and our best friends? We couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Bali, Indonesia. We are really excited to share more in-depth our photos and experiences with everyone.
Q2. What were some of your highlights from the trip?
There are so many, but each country we would have to say:
Vietnam: Meeting / Being with Liz’s Family
Japan: Traditions and Allure of Kyoto
Thailand: Learning about the animals. Our entire wedding experience courtesy of Thailand Weddings. Deep Water Solo’ing. Railey Beach (pictured below) – our favorite place on earth. Too many things!
Cambodia: Angkor. Need we say more.
Philippines: Best beaches in the world!
Indonesia: Everything about Ubud, having our closest friends with us, hanging out at the best pool in the world. Sssooo much amazingness.
Q3. What was the hardest thing about this portion of Wed the World?
The hardest thing was being on the move constantly. Traveling as much as we did over the past 5 months was really tiring physically, mentally, and emotionally. We’ve learned some great lessons from this trip about when to put the pedal to the floor, but also when to halt the brakes to stop and take a moment’s rest to enjoy what we’re doing.
Q4. Are you tired of having weddings now that you’ve had 6?
Although planning and having multiple in a short amount of time was challenging/tiring, celebrating our love with people wherever we went was an amazing experience and something we cannot, and will not, forget. We are definitely not tired of having weddings and the experience of doing it. We know that the concept isn’t for everyone, but we found something really great and inspiring for us.
Q5. Are you done having weddings?
Absolutely not! We committed to doing this the rest of our life together to keep travel as a constant in our lives, but also to continue to celebrate our love in a unique way. Stay tuned for our 2015 destination announcements!
We apologize for stalling posts the past month but we do have a lot of content to share from our world journey – so stick with us and we promise to get content up from all 6 weddings over the summer from the different traditions we’ve learned, and the beautiful (and bizarre) things we’ve worn and done to celebrate our love along the way. In the meantime, we have PLENTY of adventures set for this summer including our Seattle wedding at the end of September, so continue to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates!
